Design
It may not be quite correct as expression, but it brings a simple and an elaborate design. It looks sensational. It is made from polycarbonate and is not noisy at all , same as the most Smartphones that have a battery cover. N9 does not provide access to the battery. It sounds like a solid Smartphone that feels very small in hand and is easy to handle. It has no buttons and the secondary camera from the front side of the phone is located at the base of it not on the upper right corner like the most competitors. On the back side you will find the 8 Megapixel camera sensor accompanied by a dual LED flash.
The display
The diagonal of 3.9 inches was chosen in order to stand out from the competition that shows 3.7 or 4 inch. The display technology is AMOLED and the displayed resolution is 480×854 pixels with 16 million colors.
Sound
The volume control buttons are positioned on the right side and they are easily accessible. You can choose between three preset modes: Silent, Beep and Ringing. The 3.5 mm jack is positioned above and the headphones from the package are classic.
Hardware
Nokia has placed what was best into N9: 1 GHz single core processors, 1 GB RAM 16 or 64 GB of storage. The microSD slot is missing.
Operating system and applications
MeeGo represents the collaboration between Intel with Moblin and Maemo with Nokia. Is not a bad product and in the future it might become a reference point. The interface is based on the swipe. You currently have available three screens – one with installed applications, another one with feeds from Facebook, Twitter, synchronized mail account, and it also works very well with Gmail. The third screen presents as a thumbnail shape the applications from the background.
The browsing is fast,N9 being the fastest Nokia so far. They chose to implement by default simply browser. There are cases where it stops working, but that’s frequently on Android too. I would say that it loads websites quickly and it can be compared to a dual-core without problems.
Connectivity
It brings 3G download speed up to 14.4 Mbps, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack.
Photo camera and Video
The camera sensor is an 8 megapixels one with the optics provided by Carl Zeiss and the videos made by this camera are HD at 720p.
Autonomy
The battery has a capacity of 1450 mAh. The charger has a round shape and the cable has a double role, for connection to PC and power supply.
